Herriman - assistance with new course

Postby JGreyson » Fri Jul 09, 2010 10:05 am

Hi.
I'm super new to disc golf and a couple of experienced golfers set up a temporary course we played on over the holiday. My subdivision, and Herriman as a whole, are very committed to green spaces and community involvement. I would like to begin work on getting support for a disc golf course in Herriman. I've downloaded the forms from the pdga.com and would like to be affiliated with a group when presenting this to the City and Parks and Rec Department.

I would love suggestions, and anyone in this area who would be interested in assisting me.

Thanks!!
Jennifer

Hi Jennifer,
Welcome to the wonderful world of disc golf in Utah. Too few courses and a general lack of awareness by those who might be able to approve new ones. Your effort is commendable, however, and I hate to see your eager and optimistic call for support go unheard. My involvement in the local disc golf has waned of late, and my time is sparse for endeavors such as your own. I won't go so far as to volunteer others, but I am quite sure you could gain affiliation-at the very least!-from Team Utah. Come on out to one of our Monthly Tournaments and let folks know what you're planning. You are very likely to have a robust response and garner some good ideas from people more experienced than myself in course generation. Gook luck!

Hey Jennifer
I am the Main contact for Team Utah. I run our Summer Series and help with most event. Would love to see a new curse in the valley, we really need more good courses. I live in West Jordan so something in Harriman would be great. Give me a call and will see if we can help. :D
